Well I have a genuine day off today which very rarely happens to me. I'm coming to the end of 2 weeks booked off from both my jobs as I'm currently resitting my end of Year 2 exams at uni, they've not gone well, I'm already guaranteed not to progress to Year 3 so I've decided to enjoy the day off instead of hitting the book. Besides, university are now within their rights to refuse me entry to Year 2 as a repeat as well. Anyway to get back on point, I've been enjoying a well deserved day off so far. However I'm never very smart when these things happen, especially when I go in to a shop to browse. I had a lovely tedious task to do today, renewing my bus pass whoop-de-do, so in order to at least do something borderline interesting I decided to browse the local charity shops. Now I'm not quite sure what goes on in my head, but I seemed to be wired like a horder, especially if something is listed as cheap or some form of offer/sale/bargain. Due to this I've accumulated an ungodly amount of tat, but in recent weeks finally found it in me to get rid of at least some of it. Unfortunately today I merely replaced it with new tat.
Now in recent times I've noticed a bit of a decline in charity shops, well not so much of a decline, more of a shift. They seem to be a lot like new shops now rather than what they once were. For example I bought dungeons and dragons from The Works about 2 years ago for £5, I never used it and donated it a few weeks ago, I think to The Mind charity shop and when I checked back a week later and they were asking for £15 for it, and surprisingly it was unsold...But I did actually manage to find one that acts like a real charity shop, with kindly and chatty assistants. I ended up with 13 books, 2cds, a dvd with 20 'top games of 2004', and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and all of that didn't even set me back £10. Maybe I did go a little overboard, I mean I doubt i'll play even 2 of the pc games I got, I'm kinda interested in Final Fantasy XI, and Prince of Persia but I know deep down I don't really bother with PC games. And some of the books I picked up, they were 10p each, I may read a couple of them - I was extatic to find the hardback, photos galore, Ayrton Senna tribute, and the Camra (Campaign for Real Ale, which while I'm not a member, it is what I drink rather than lager...ugh) Dictionary of Beer which could prove an interesting read.

Yeah so as you can see I lead a real interesting life since its 3.30pm and thats all thats really happened to me today. If anyone knows how to keep such hording and impulse buying in control please leave me a message or something, my overdraft will be grateful.
I'll probably be back with a few more posts later today probably equally interesting and useful and I'm tempted to add up some of my writing just well, to have a digital record considering what I'm like at losing things...now wheres that key
